I finally maxed out my puny 8GB iPod Nano. Music lovers will understand that 8GB is nothing. The only reason I’ve managed for so long is because I don’t put full albums on my iPod, just my most favorite songs.
Today, I’m shopping for a new iPod and ended up buying the new iPod Classic with a wapping 160GB capacity. That will last me forever.
Apple has a neat little gift engraving option on the back for free so you could say something like: “I love you.” or “Happy Birthday!“, you get the idea. I found a much better use for this little feature:
I figure:
- If you lose your iPod somewhere public you probably have maybe a 5% chance of getting it back.
- If you lose your iPod somewhere public and you have your contact info engraved on it, maybe you have a 15% better chance of getting it back.
- Of course, if it’s stolen, whether you have it engraved or not, probably a 0% chance of getting it back.
Anyway, just a geeky little tidbit I thought I would share.
